Why Church ErLäbt?
"Church" is derived from the Greek word ekklesia. In New Testament usage, ekklesia refers to the community of those called out of the world by Jesus Christ through the Gospel to gather around Him in worship, and sent out by Him to bear witness to faith and serve in love.
The phrase "Er läbt" (He lives) refers to Jesus Christ, who lives right here among us today.
"Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last, and the Living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and Hades."— Revelation 1:17–18
"Erläbt" (in the sense of "to experience") expresses that we desire, are able, and are privileged to experience His greatness in our lives.
"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."— James 4:8
The divided "E" points to the Trinity. The circle closes at the cross. Yet life does not end there—that is where it truly begins. We have the opportunity to come to the cross daily and lay down our burdens before Him. Furthermore, we want to take up His cross, stand up for His name, and be a witness.
We believe in a God who lives.
We want to experience God the Father, Jesus His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
As a church, we want to bring life to our municipality, the canton, and the region.
We are a young free church in Switzerland. You can find more information about the Association of Free Churches here. hier.
What We Believe
We believe in the Triune God – God the Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We adhere to the Apostles' Creed:
"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into the realm of the dead, on the third day He rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven; He sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and life everlasting." Amen.
